Jody Hendryx, P.T., L.M.T.
Jody Hendryx, P.T., L.M.T. holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Colorado and a B.S. in Physical Therapy from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She started Hands on Physical Therapy in 1994 with the intention of providing a specialized Manual Therapy/Myofascial release clinic in the Austin community. Jody has extensive training in manual therapy techniques which address the fascial and connective tissue system with an emphasis on treatment of male/female pelvic floor.
Jody has been studying under John Barnes since 1988 and has taken all of his courses as well as numerous skill enhancement seminars and Therapy for the Therapist seminars.

She successfully completed a proficiency assessment through John Barnes' Myofascial Release Treatment Centers. Additional training include numerous classes through the Upledger Institute for cranio-sacral therapy, muscle energy, visceral manipulation and somato emotional release. She has taken advanced pelvic floor classes through the American Physical Therapy Association for male and female incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction.
Jody has been teaching various manual therapy classes including Introduction to Myofascial Release and Treatment of Women's Health Issues within the Austin massage community. She is a full instructor with John Barnes, P.T., and the Myofascial Release Seminars. Her experience working with John Barnes and his staff in Paoli, PA and Sedona, AZ influenced her in developing Hands on Physical Therapy's ongoing Intensive Treatment Program in Sedona, AZ.
Katrina Barton, P.T.
Katrina Barton, P.T. holds a B.S. in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University, HSC. She has been in practice as a Physical Therapist since 1986. Her career emphasis has been in Outpatient orthopedics, manual therapy, myofascial, cranio-sacral therapy and pelvic floor dysfunction.
Prior to coming to Hands on Physical Therapy in 1995, she had extensive manual therapy training with Ola Grimsby, P.T. Since joining Hands on Physical Therapy, she has taken over 250 hours of additional John Barnes Myofascial Release training, as well as completing skill enhancement training at the Myofascial Release treatment Center in Paoli, PA. She has taken Upledger cranio-sacral therapy training and lymphatic drainage.Katrina has also taken classes through the American Physical Therapy Association for Male and Female Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.
Patti Saathoff, L.M.T.
Patti Saathoff, L.M.T., joined our staff in 1996. She graduated from Conway Lauterstein School of Massage. Patti has over 500 hours of additional training and has completed all of John Barnes Myofascial Release courses, as well as completing the Skill Enhancement and Therapy for the Therapist Seminars in Sedona, AZ. Patti has assisted in many of John Barnes Myofascial Release Seminars. She continues to enhance her skills by participating in Upledger's cranio-sacral therapy training and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. In addition to working as a massage therapist, Patti enjoys working as a Physical Therapy aide and has worked with many of the Physical Therapy patients over the last nine years. Patti's license allows her the ability to treat patients without a doctors prescription, as well as allows patients the opportunity to receive Myofascial Release Massage treatments at a reduced rate. The experience she has gained from her training, treating massage and therapy patients have made her a vital component to our practice.

Kristi McGrath, P.T., L.M.T.
Kristi McGrath, P.T. holds degrees in both Physical Therapy and Psychology. Her background and training is in Orthopedic manual physical therapy and Myofascial Release, with an emphasis on spinal and pelvic floor dysfunction, cervical pain, and headaches. Her additional training and interests include Manual Lymphatic Drainage with the Upledger Institute as well as Women's Health with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction studies through the American Physical Therapy Association. Kristi has undergone Advanced training in Myofascial Release through John F. Barnes, P.T. She looks forward to being an assistant instructor with John Barnes Myofascial Release Seminars.
Michael Rende, OTR
Michael Rende, OTR, A 1986 graduate from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, Michael earned a B.S. in Economics, B.A. in Geology and a minor in acting. Michael’s diverse collegiate background led him to the corporate world of insurance underwriting where he attained the level of Assistant Vice President. In the waning years of his 7 year insurance tenure an emerging passion for the healing arts led to a career change and return to school. Michael attended Loma Linda University in California where he graduated with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy.

Michael has been working in the field of Occupational Therapy since 1993. He has worked in traditional and non-traditional physical disability and mental health settings from acute rehab to skilled nursing to home health to outpatient. In 1998, Michael attended his first John F. Barnes Myofascial Release class and found the missing link in integrating his education with everyday practice. That same year Michael attended The Institute of Psycho-Structural Balancing in Los Angeles, CA, received his Massage Therapist Certification and learned how to remediate body/mind dysfunction with manual therapy techniques.
Currently Michael is recognized as an advanced Myofascial Release practitioner and is a full instructor for John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Seminars.
Erin Arnold, PT, MPT, L.M.T.
Erin attended Saint Louis University and earned a BS in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology in 1999 and a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy in 2001. Prior to joining Hands on Physical Therapy in 2004, Erin specialized in geriatrics and was the Director of Rehabilitation for several Long Term Care facilities.
Erin first became interested in Myofascial Release through her own experiences as a patient and the profound changes she felt in her own body. She began training with John F. Barnes, PT in early 2004 and is now an Advanced Myofascial Therapist. She has also attended training with the Upledger Institute for Cranio-Sacral Therapy and will be attending training in Gynecological-Visceral Mobilization in March of 2010.

Erin is passionate about helping patients improve their awareness of their bodies, movement patterns, and pain. Through this awareness, her patients are able to learn to self-treat and take responsibility for their health and wellness.
Erin also attended A New Beginning School of Massage and received her Massage Therapy license in 2009. She enjoys being able to see clients on a wellness basis without the need for a physicians prescription after the acute needs of physical therapy treatment are met.
Laura Holzworth, P.T., DPT.
Laura K. Holzworth, P.T., DPT holds a B.S. in Psychology, a M.S. and a post-professional clinical Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Her Physical Therapy training began at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, IA in 1997, which emphasized manual therapy. It was here that Laura was first introduced to craniosacral and myofascial release techniques as well as more traditional muscle energy and joint mobilization techniques.
Her additional training comes through the Upledger Institute in craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, mechanical link, and heart centered therapy.

She has completed intermediate level myofascial release classes with John F. Barnes, P.T. As a participant in the Women's Health Seminar, she realized the benefit and the importance of pelvic floor work for patients. The staff at Hands on Physical Therapy has provided skill enhancement to develop her proficiency in treating pelvic floor dysfunction.
Laura has a wide variety of experience and has worked in the Nebraska VA system, Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology, and Bodyworks Physical Therapy in Edina, MN before venturing south to Texas.
Ashley Pettipiece, L.M.T.
Ashley Pettipiece, L.M.T., has been a full time employee at Hands on Physical Therapy since July, 2006. She graduated from New Beginnings School of Massage in February, 2007 and completed her licensing requirements in September, 2007.
Ashley has received one on one training continuously since June, 2007 from Hands on Physical Therapy staff utilizing the Myofascial Release Approach. She has taken the following continuing education courses:

Ashley completed level 1 Qigong instructor certification through the Supreme Science Qigong Center in October 2009. Her plans are to host a Qigong class open to both patients, community and therapists at Hands on Physical Therapy. Robert Hendryx, L.M.T.
Robert Hendryx, L.M.T, has been an employee at Hands On Physical Therapy since 2006. He graduated from The New Beginning School of Massage in March, 2007. He is currently licensed to practice massage in Texas and California.
Robert is an Advanced-Intermediate Myofascial Release Therapist with John F. Barnes, PT. He has completed over 200 hours of Myofascial Release courses and has assisted at various Myofascial Release seminars.
Amy Sanders, OTR, L.M.T.
Amy Sanders OTR LMT, holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been in practice as an Occupational Therapist since 1992. Prior to joining Hands on Physical Therapy, her experience was focused on rehabilitation services for children and adults. She has treated patients on the full spectrum of recovery from subacute to outpatient level, with varied neurological and orthopedic diagnoses.
In 2001, understanding the importance of utilizing manual therapy technique with patients, she decided to enhance her skills by completing her massage therapy degree at A New Beginning School of Massage.
Through attending Myofascial Release courses with John F. Barnes, and CranioSacral Therapy training with John Upledger, Amy discovered a way to help her patients reach their highest potential. She feels it is important to empower the client to maintain a balance within their body through treatment and self care, to maintain a functional lifestyle.
Amy plans to continue specializing in manual therapy techniques with a focus on treating children with learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, seizures, or other health challenges. She looks forward to assisting with CranioSacral classes this year.
